One Slice Isn’t Enough of This Keto Cheesecake

There are many different Ketogenic desserts out there, but sometimes you come across one that’s truly special. This is one of those times.

Imagine yourself tucking into a creamy, enticing Keto cheesecake. The very thought of it probably has you salivating. Believe it or not, whipping up this dessert is amazingly straightforward. So long as you follow our guide, you should find that it’s… a piece of cake.

What is a Keto Cheesecake?

The great thing about Keto desserts — like our Keto cheesecake — is that they won’t throw you off your diet goals.

When you’re following the Keto diet plan, you should consume fewer than 50g of digestible carbs each day. Research from the US National Library of Medicine suggests that following this guideline to restrict your carbohydrate intake will help you reach a state of ketosis.[1]

If you’re a dessert lover, keeping your carbs low can be a massive struggle. The base of a regular-style cheesecake is typically high in carbs, making it a big no-no.

Luckily, there’s a way around this issue. By making a Keto cheesecake at home, you can ensure that the base of the cake is far lower in carbs than usual. That means substituting the regular flour in the crust for an alternative. Options include coconut flour, almond flour, or even something truly unique (like crushed walnuts!).

For this recipe, we’ll be using almond flour but, remember, you can easily substitute this for any Keto-friendly ingredient that suits your needs and tastes.

3 Expert Tips to Keep in Mind

It’s vital you check your cake regularly to ensure it’s baked to perfection!

Of course, you want to make sure that your Keto cheesecake is as delicious as possible. If it’s your first time making the recipe, you may feel overwhelmed. So, before you start making your dessert, here’s some simple advice that’ll help you along the way:

  1. Avoid any air bubbles
When you’re making the topping of your cheesecake, here’s the golden rule: The fewer air bubbles you have in your mixture, the better. One way to avoid pesky bubbles from forming is to use a low setting on your mixer. It takes slightly longer, but faster-paced setting whip much more air into your mixture. It’s worth it to take the extra minute. Keep things light and smooth!
  2. Check your cake regularly
While we’ve given a 45-minute cooking time here, it’s important you check your cake regularly. The ideal baking time could vary depending on the oven you’re using and other factors. For that reason, you’ll need to check your cake regularly as it’s cooking. That way, you can ensure that it gets baked well without burning.
  3. Cool down your cheesecake
If you’re not planning to serve your Keto cheesecake right away, here’s one final tip that you should keep in mind: The zesty lime cheesecake tastes best when you serve it chilled. Put the cake in your fridge once it’s fully-cooked and leave it there until it’s cold to the touch. When you’re ready to have a delicious dessert, get it out and cut a slice. Nothing could be better!

Simple Modifications You Can Test Out

The recipe above is perfect as is, but if you really want to up the ante, feel free to test out these simple modifications.

Do you want to take your Keto cheesecake game to new levels? Once you’ve mastered the basic recipe, you can kick things up a notch.

By making some simple modifications to our guide, you can create an entirely unique dessert that suits your personal tastes. Here are four ways in which you may wish to alter this particular recipe:

  1. Add some toppings
When you’ve completed the basic Keto cheesecake recipe, you can have some fun and experiment with toppings. In this guide, we’ve suggested that you garnish the cake with some lime zest. However, you don’t have to stop there. You could add some fresh fruit or even dark chocolate shavings to the top off the cake. Doing so makes it extra special.
  2. Pick a sweetener that suits you
For this specific Keto cheesecake recipe, we’ve used stevia leaf extract as the sweetener. If you can’t get your hands on this ingredient, or simply don’t like it, there are other options you may want to try instead. For example, you could choose to use erythritol sweetener in place of the stevia. Research Keto-friendly sweeteners and decide which one’s easiest for you to use. Simple.
  3. Use various spices and flavors
Don’t panic if you’re not a huge fan of cinnamon or lime. When it comes to the flavors you use in your cheesecake, you have total freedom. You may wish to swap the lime juice for lemon juice, if that happens to be your preference. On the other hand, if you don’t enjoy the taste of cinnamon spice, you can switch it for a little nutmeg. The choice is yours.
  4. Serve it in style!
When you’re ready to serve your cheesecake, make sure you consider what you can have on the side. You may want to enjoy the cake with some fresh cream or Keto-friendly ice cream, for example. Alternately, you could pop some Keto donut holes on the side of the plate as well. Don’t be shy about going above and beyond when it comes to serving!
